Terms of Service
Effective date: August 31, 2026
Last updated: August 31, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern use of www.cedarvalleystumps.com and stump grinding and related services provided by Grounds Crew (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using the website, requesting a quote, scheduling work, or accepting our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
Grounds Crew provides stump grinding and related outdoor services in the Cedar Valley of Iowa.

Website: https://www.cedarvalleystumps.com
Email: info@cedarvalleystumps.com
Mailing address: 117 Rebecca Rd., Hudson, IA 50643
2. Quotes and estimates
Quotes are based on information you provide and what we can reasonably see at the time of evaluation. Price can change if:
The stump is larger, harder, or less accessible than described
Hidden concrete, metal, rock, utilities, or extra stumps are found
Access is blocked or the site is unsafe
You add haul-away, extra grinding depth, or other work
A quoted price is not a guarantee until we confirm the job and you accept it. Verbal or texted acceptance of a quoted price is binding.
3. Scheduling and access
You agree to:
Provide accurate property location and access instructions
Make sure we can reach the work area with our equipment
Mark or tell us about sprinkler heads, septic, buried lines, wells, pet fences, landscaping you want protected, and similar hazards
Keep people, children, and pets away from equipment during the job
Have authority to authorize work on the property
If we arrive and cannot safely or reasonably access the site, a trip or minimum charge may apply.
Weather, equipment issues, and emergency work can delay jobs. We will make reasonable efforts to reschedule.
4. Scope of work
Unless we agree otherwise in writing or by clear text/email:
Stump grinding typically reduces the stump and visible surface roots to about 6–12 inches below grade
We do not remove the entire underground root system
We do not fill, grade, seed, or landscape unless separately quoted
Wood chips may be left on site unless haul-away is included
Nearby turf, mulch, or plantings can be disturbed by equipment and chip spray
Underground utilities and private lines are not always marked. You are responsible for identifying private utilities (sprinklers, pet fence, low-voltage lighting, private electric, etc.). We are not responsible for unmarked private lines.
5. Customer responsibilities and site conditions
You represent that you own the property or have permission from the owner to authorize the work. You are responsible for obtaining any HOA, city, or other approvals if required.
If the work area contains hazards you did not disclose, we may stop work and revise the price or decline the job.
6. Payment
Payment is due as stated on the quote or invoice, typically upon completion unless we agree otherwise. We may require a deposit for larger jobs.
Late invoices may accrue a reasonable late fee or interest as allowed by Iowa law. You agree to pay reasonable collection costs if an unpaid invoice is sent to collections.
Accepted payment methods will be stated at the time of booking or on the invoice.
7. Cancellation
Please cancel as soon as you know you cannot keep the appointment.
If you cancel after we are already in transit or on site, a trip or minimum charge may apply.
We may cancel or postpone for weather, safety, equipment failure, or if site conditions are not as described.
8. Photos and reviews
We may photograph the work area before and after the job for documentation and marketing. Tell us before work starts if you do not want photos used publicly.
You grant us permission to use non-confidential feedback or reviews you provide.
9. Website use
You may use the website for lawful purposes only. You may not:
Attempt to hack, scrape, or overload the site
Submit false or misleading inquiry information
Copy site content for commercial use without permission
Website content (text, photos, logos) is owned by us or our licensors and may not be reused without permission, except for ordinary personal viewing.
The site is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Iowa law:
Our total liability for a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost use of the property, delay damages, or plant replacement beyond what we expressly agree to repair
We are not liable for damage caused by hidden objects, unmarked utilities, preexisting site conditions, or customer instructions
Some limitations may not apply where the law does not allow them. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for our own willful misconduct where the law prohibits that limitation.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your breach of these Terms, your lack of authority to authorize the work, or hazards you failed to disclose.
12. Privacy
Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, available at www.cedarvalleystumps.com/privacy-policy.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes will be in the Iowa county where we principally operate or where the work was performed, unless the law requires otherwise.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. The updated version applies to website use and to jobs accepted after the new effective date. Jobs already booked remain subject to the Terms in place when you accepted the quote, unless both sides agree otherwise.
